Think Foo Fighters-meets-Buck Rogers-era Feeder, but fizzier and scuzzier. Nice- Classic Rock Magazine 2019

"These guys have what it takes to get fans, great songs, terrific playing and a vocalist who fits perfectly"

"Broken Strings” revs from zero to sixty in no time flat. A high-octane thrill ride, heavily distorted guitar riffs, and an unbelievably tight drum line.

-Abort Magazine

"Broken Strings” is no exception. It’s a relentless, driving track that perfectly encapsulates the band’s energy which has given their live appearances quite a reputation.

The Survival Code are a London based rock duo known for their beefy, guitar laden songs, banging beats and huge live shows. The rock duo comprise of Gary McGuinness (guitar, vox) and Simon Hartop (drums, vox)

The Survival Code have been around in many incarnations since 2012 in a variety of line ups featuring 2-4 members

In 2018 the lads changed from a three piece to a two piece which coincided with the release of the album HOPELESSNESS OF PEOPLE. Ever since then the band have grown from strength to strength gigging across the UK on two UK tours and releasing a new EP in 2019 - CROSSES TO CARRY, COFFINS TO FILL

The most recent release is the lads most successful to date with over 250k plays since it's release in August 2019 and lead single SO SERIOUS continues to be on over 800 playlists

Lead singer Gary is the project's driving force and song writer. A classical guitar scholar and skilled drummer originally from Dublin, he drummed in successful alt-rock bands for over a decade, before moving to London in 2010 to see if a dent could be made in the UK music scene.

After meeting and collaborating with Tom Cook, a talented drummer and Pete Agnelli (the bands original Bassist), The Survival Code was born

The band released this 4 track EP which set the tone for what was to come. Slightly more pop/punk and with a 4 piece line up of 2xguitar vocals, 1 bass, 1 drums

MMXV (2015)

By now the band were a three piece. They spent a good deal of time selecting the producer and studio from which to record their debut album and couldn't have been happier having decided to work with John Merriman of Crown Lane studios. The 11 track album had 3 single releases and received a great deal of exposure and media airplay

Following a great year of gigging and releasing new material and media, the band followed up MMXV with the 3 track EP ' BROKEN STRINGS" which was lead by the single of the same name which was releasee in late SEPT 2016. This is the first recording without Pete on Bass and now featured Chema Zurita

This track has been the band's break through track so far featuring on KERRANG!, Plant Rock, Team Rock and all the other stations the lads hoped to get. The success of the track lead to the guys featuring in a guest slot on the KERRANG! DJ Johnny Doom's TV show

After parting ways with Chema and trying a few other bassists the band decided to proceed as a duo which helped expedite the process of recording and release and made the whole thing more harmonious. The lads chose to work with Matt Hyde (UK) after the previous arrangement they had agreed fell through. Matt had helped with the guitar sounds for MMXV and mastered it so knew the band and what we were looking to achieve. The lads recorded 12 tracks as a duo and released 4 was singles

After 6 years in the band, Tom left to move to Dubai and Simon Hartop joined on drums. Simon is known for his time in "The Barbs" . The lads recorded the 5 tracks EP with MATT HYDE again as a duo and managed two UK tours and easily the best numbers of any release they have produced to date
